Crossing the Bridge..!!

It’s beautiful to grow, beautiful to move ahead. Challenging yourself, reaching new heights, achieving new benchmarks, gaining understating. In this process, there are always two states, two sides of a bridge: one void & one filled. In the void something or someone guides you to reach the other side. You’re novice; on the edge of the bridge.

You’ve only one thing on your mind: Reach the other side. But you have no idea how to reach. The picture is not clear; the skill is not developed to ride on bridge. There is a fear to fall down. Bridge may break, you may loose courage. There may come night and there is no surety that stars will shine enough to guide you the path but still you know inside that you need to reach the other side.

You can’t be stagnant. You need to achieve and you set out with the baggage filled with courage and faith.

You start your journey with little fear and full excitement. You see people ahead of you and also few who’ve already reached on the other side. You wonder whether and when will you be able to complete the journey and how would it feel to be there. You start with full enthusiasm.

The path is new; unfamiliar to you. You’ve never traveled on this path earlier. You have no guidelines of how to walk on the bridge, but it can’t be compromised not to cross the bridge. You are determined to ride on the path anyway. You take steps, starts walking and slop starts seeming less curved. Sometimes you get some clues and feel that it is going to be easy to solve the query. Sometimes you feel stuck and want to give up and go back. You take help of your storage of courage and faith, seek strength and march ahead.

And finally you reach the other side. There is a relief in your heart and you cherish the success. After staying at the other side for some time, you realize that crossing the bridge was more crucial. You do not grow by reaching the next level; you grow in the process of reaching the next level.

A student remembers his result; but more than that he remembers how hard he has studied, how his friends helped him to get through. Two lovers may enjoy their marriage, but what stays more close to their heart was what it took to achieve the mission. How they broke all the rules just to see a glimpse of a person and how he/she went against the world just to make other smile. Rather than knowing how well an entrepreneur’s organization is doing, people are more interested in knowing how he has reached that level, what difficulties he has faced and how smartly he has handled it. A soul may do better at Siddhashila (an area in Jain cosmology at the apex of the universe, which is where the Jains believe people who have become Arihants, or people with infinite knowledge, go after they die and attain moksha or nirvana), but critical part is to attain that state.

Stories apart, coming to the point: Never complain about where you are. Have a clear goal but don’t detest the journey to achieve it. You shape yourself by passing through rough paths and this is where you payoff your Karmas and perform as a human. There are infinite things to know, many bridges ahead to cross. Starve for new milestones and enjoy crossing the bridge.:-)
